Ludwig van Beethoven: Fidelio
(The Estates Theatre Prague)

“Yukiko Kinjo again confirmed that she belongs to the most accurate intone and the most likeable listening voice of the domestic opera scene, excellent Marzelline.”

25. 9. 2018 * ČT 24 * Jakub Kožíšek

“From the domestic cast of the others characters excelled Yukiko Kinjo with her pleasant and sure mastering of Marzelline.”

Giuseppe Verdi: Il trovatore
(The Revolving Theatre Český Krumlov)

“...among the singers attracted an attention especially Yukiko Kinjo as Leonora.”

Giacomo Puccini: Turandot
(The Karlín Music Theatre, Prague)

“The Japanese soprano Yukiko Kinjo imbued Liù with a gentle warmth with elegant, deeply felt phrasing and bright tone color. If Liù represents humankind’s capacity to love with loyalty, Ms. Kinjo voiced it beautifully. When Liù sacrifices herself in Act III, Ms. Kinjo makes sure it rends the heart.”

W. A. Mozart: Le nozze di Figaro
(The Estates Theatre Prague)

In first two nights Yukiko Kinjo shows the best Mozart-voice.
“Yukiko Kinjo's singing was the most admirable performance of the two premiere-alternations. Her feathery, airy and perfectly intoning voice is for Susanna ideal.”

M. O. Štědroň: Don Hrabal
(National Theatre's New Stage, Prague)

“...Yukiko Kinjo was a charming and witty ‘Muse’, whether as a cultivated American student of Czech ‘Dubenka’ or as a carnal ‘Gypsy’.”

Giuseppe Verdi: Il trovatore
(South Bohemian Theatre České Budějovice)

“ the foreground of a production stood the soprano Yukiko Kinjo with her deliciously resonating lyrical soprano with pleasantly round high notes... I appreciate primarily the sense for beautiful, musical, instrumentally fluently unfolding phrases led in nicely arched arcs. The structurally lyrical voice is in a space very strong which is important. The singing show is certainly enhanced by an appearance too, when the soprano creates together with charismatic Paolo Lardizzone a pair of lovers attractive even purely theatrically.”

E. Humperdinck: Hänsel und Gretel
(The State Opera Prague)

“The second premiere delighted with seamless singing and a delicious sweet play of Yukiko Kinjo as Gretel.”

W. A. Mozart: Die Zauberflöte
(The Estates Theatre Prague)

“...Pamina of soprano Yukiko Kinjo is really delicate, touching and exceptionally inward.”

W. A. Mozart: Le nozze di Figaro
(South Bohemian Theatre České Budějovice)

“Yukiko Kinjo whom I referred to as excellent Barnerinka before when she sang with National Theatre in Litomyšl dealt with Susanna was very nicely. Her light soprano is capable of supporting a dynamic modulation, which sympathetically reflected in the aria (F long held in the charming piano).”

Georges Bizet: Carmen
(South Bohemian Theatre České Budějovice)

“In this cast tiny Yukiko Kinjo (alias Micaëla) was shining. She charmingly brings shyness, chastity and courage of a sincerely loving village girl to perfection when ‘scuttles’ around the scene here and there with a childish smile. Thanks to it the originally inconspicuous character becomes a key figure in fact as a messenger and a reminder of the old older in her long solos.”

A thoroughly modern water nymph

Love is hard labor in the National Theater's updated Rusalka

Audience favorites were the three water sprites: Yukiko Kinjo, Lucie Hájková and Michaela Kapustová. It's probably no coincidence that theirs was the brightest, liveliest singing of the evening.

Vivaldi Gloria, Ostra picta amata (Celebrations of St.Wenceslas)

Yukiko Kinjo's performance after the break in Ostro picta, armata spina, RV 624, which is the introduction to the famous Gloria, RV 589, was excellent. All artists performed remarkably well and one can say Gloria as the highlight of the evening was outstanding.
